The How I Beat suite of websites are targeted toward people in physical or psychological pain who want to hear positive and genuine stories of recovery and growth. The term ‘How I Beat’ means a subjective experience of someone who has suffered a condition and who has taken steps to overcome it. It does not mean the condition is abolished or removed because of self-will, not at all.

‘Beat’ for these websites is active not past tense; it is a doing word which implies daily action!

In many cases people may need to learn how to manage and cope with long lasting conditions, but in doing so they are still declaring how they beat or disallow that condition from dominating their existence and purpose in life.

These sites will not preach or coerce anyone into buying products. They’re about imparting hope and furnishing key information which may provide a breakthrough, reassurance or just plain comfort and hope for people at a dead end.

People research on the net. When I was deeply depressed and in pain I scoured the net looking for answers, help, solutions and most of all some understanding. I found very little, yes there were some blogs and some online forums and some generic sites, but I was craving about hearing from a person, not a so-called expert.

The following little disclaimer blub will be on every site. These sites are not medical advice and should not be treated as such. Be sensible, be practical and always seek medical advice – don’t self diagnose!

The information on these pages is not medical advice nor is it intended to affect any medical advice from any medical practitioner, and should not be used as such. This intention of this website is not meant to put forward any scientific opinions, conjecture nor engage in debate. I am not a trained scientist and the opinions put forth are simply empirical observations from the point of view of a sufferer.
